Performs detailed work assignments in one or several of the following areas: tax accounting, receivables, payables, payroll, property, general ledger and financial reporting. Sets up and retains organization's tax records. Files and prepares Federal, State corporate, and exempt organization tax returns and related reports. Understanding of fundamental accounting transaction flows, including system interfaces required. In-depth knowledge of general tax principles, laws and regulations required. Experience Level: BA in Finance or Accounting required; CPA certification preferred, plus minimum 6+ years of direct relevant experience. We currently have a career opportunity for a Senior Tax Analyst in our Controllers Office - National Tax. The Senior Tax Analyst will be responsible for the collection of data for and preparation of Form 990s, 990Ts, business tax returns, state income tax returns and related filings, conduct research on various issues pertaining to Kaiser Permanente, and interacting with key personnel to resolve tax issues that may arise. Prepare and assist with coordination of information and income tax returns for Kaiser Permanente and its affiliates Conduct tax research necessary to support and substantiate income tax advice and assist in various tax related projects Stay abreast of current and proposed regulatory actions affecting nonprofit healthcare institutions Demonstrate professionalism through a positive and cooperative attitude Contribute to the overall success of the team by keeping team members informed of work status; actively seeking assignments; and seeking new, effective approaches to National Tax responsibilities
