Position Overview:

This position is for a Quality Engineer in the Charlotte Gas Turbine Manufacturing organization. The successful candidate will be responsible for understanding the principles of the business and establish, implement and maintain quality management systems to measure, control and improve quality in the production process.

Associates degree to 2+ years post high school education


  • Detects non conformances and lead the process of root cause analysis and corrective and preventive measure definition
  • Supports a Manufacturing team for successful execution of a product through the shop by participating in Gemba Meetings
  • Lead follow up meetings in order to ensure preventive and corrective measures are effectively implemented
  • Lead the elaboration of FMEAs and follow up in risk mitigation measures
  • Process Quality notifications and Maintain Quality notifications workflow up to date
  • Participate and contribute in Project Risk meetings by preparing historical of Non Conformances from previous projects
  • Participation in Cross Campus Sharing and Transfer meetings
  • Prepare presentations about quality issues to be shared with internal and external customers
  • Drives continuous improvement with and lessons learned with area of responsibility
  • Ensures that product safety activities are in line with internal and external regulations.
  • Ensures and controls implementation of quality methods and risk management in production processes, projects and products

Required Knowledge/Skills, Education, and Experience:

  • Associates Degree in a related discipline
  • 2-5 years of experience in manufacturing, quality, engineering or safety
  • Intermediate computer skills required, to include Microsoft office products
  • Strong problem solving skills
  • Ability to lead quality related initiatives in respective area
  • Must be detail-oriented and able to multi-task in a fast paced environment
  • Strong written and oral communication skills

Preferred Knowledge/Skills, Education and Experience:

  • Bachelors degree in a related discipline
  • Experience with Gas Turbine, Steam Turbine or Generator manufacturing
  • Lean / Six Sigma experience
  • Knowledge of Machining, Welding and NDE
  • Knowledge of SAP
  • Root Cause and Preventive Action methods (e.g. 8D, KT, CAPA)
