PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES: 1. Inventory. Participates in physical inventories of warehouse and/or supply yard; maintains inventory records by adding or deleting supplies as they are shipped or received; operates a personal computer to access, enter, and correct information; answers phones and provides information using customer service skills; may provide advice regarding supplies or property including price and availability; may prepare damage claims for supervisor's review and signature; may coordinate disposal of surplus property and manage records retention; manage the engineering material from a receiving, shipping, inspect, inventory. 2. Purchasing. Assists staff and/or vendors (e.g. ordering and purchasing procedures, required documentation, etc.); evaluates order documentation (e.g. requisitions, pricing, bid documents, etc.); maintains purchasing information, files and records (e.g. purchase orders, vender files, etc.); monitors purchase orders and warehouse inventories (e.g. deliveries, invoicing, min-max reorder levels, etc.) for the purpose of identifying inventory discrepancies, completing purchasing processes in accordance within require time frames and resolving issues that may delay receipt of requested materials, products and equipment; participates in unit meetings, in-service training, workshops, etc. as required for the purpose of conveying and/or gathering information required to perform functions; performs a variety of duties in the purchasing of supplies (e.g. processing purchase orders, obtaining pricing information, expediting invoicing and deliveries, etc.); processes purchasing-related information (e.g. incoming purchase requisitions, purchase orders, etc.); researches suppliers including new products and sources of supply; responds to inquiries of vendors and staff for the purpose of resolving purchasing issues; performs other related duties as assigned for the purpose of ensuring the efficient and effective functioning of the work unit. GENERAL INFORMATION: Provide information to vendors; bend, stoop, lift and move objects weighing up to 60 pounds; stand and walk throughout an 8 hour shift; handle and store hazardous materials; clean and maintain a safe working environment. QUALIFICATIONS: High School diploma Unrestricted EXPERIENCE: Knowledge of inventory software; handling, storing, and shipping materials or supplies; operating material handling equipment; reviewing documents for accuracy and completeness; customer service phone interaction; knowledge of using excel spreadsheets and other computer skills; job related experience is required. 5 years experience minimum; 10 years experience preferred
- Processes purchase requests (depending on thresholds), adds necessary information (e.g. Commodity Code (ESN), INCOTERMS).* Analyzes material availability, manages purchase orders incl. tracking; checking of content, to ensure cost-efficient and on time supply of materials according to demand.* Takes care of compliance with Procurement rules of Siemens and usage of Siemens contract partners based on click4suppliers easy and FPL to ensure the usage of competitive Terms & Conditions and by that obtaining highest feasible CNI.* May maintain and update supplier master data (if mandated) in coordination with Regional Procurement in SAP; archive documents according to local regulations to keep the database always accurate and up to date.* May generate savings to contribute to the success of the business and make results transparent.* Actively contributes to cooperation with all other parties involved passing on all relevant information to improve the flow of material and value through the supply chain.* Forwards systematically all relevant Procurement related project information (e.g. updated contractual conditions, Supplier Management data) to keep all project participants up to date. Thinking and portfolio of acting options cover a number of routines, and latitude is permitted to address topics with approprioate processes. Unexpected situations, however, typically needs technical assistance or authorization. In Production: Operates a defined number of related specialized machines and equipment, which may include prescribed CNC programming (i.e. setting parameter) to setup the machines for production program.In Assembly: Incumbent needs to have certain degree of theoretical knowledge and procedural understanding to operate in qualified assembly processes, which includes effective usage of a number of tools and machines during during assembly process. Assembly process however still repetitive and routine. In Administration / Customer Services: Positions are expected to cope effectively with multiple choice situations in number of assigned processes and routines. Thinking is about applying or even adapting the "right" procedure to a process or an issue arising. In Production: Operates a defined number of related specialized machines and equipment, which may include prescribed CNC programming (i.e. setting parameter) to setup the machines for production program.In Assembly: Incumbent needs to have certain degree of theoretical knowledge and procedural understanding to operate in qualified assembly processes, which includes effective usage of a number of tools and machines during during assembly process. Assembly process however still repetitive and routine. "Vocationally trained Operator / Administrator" OR "Skilled Operator / Clerk" (please see information at bottom of this cell): Deliver full range service in a defined and focused technical or administrative area of work, while clear input / output relations and generic and /or work specific guidelines, procedures are given or available. Positions need basic level of theoretical and practical know how, skills and typically some level related years of experience, in specialized processes, techniques and systems used in office, production or lab environment. In Administration / Customer Services: Position operates major parts or full spectrum of dedicated specialized standard software packages. Incumbents may handle routine and non-complex practical enquiries and procedures from internal or external customers.In Technical Customer Services: Service group employee, serving internal and external customer with technical or administrative standardized services and processes, to complete or add the delivery according to service level agreed. In Production: Automated line processing and controlling, or operating with a broader range of production machines in production lines are examples for this level or work.Typical positions: Mechanic Technology Operator, Floor Assembly Operator, Administrative Functional Support"Skilled Operator / Clerk": Deliver a limited range of practical, technical, operative and/or clerical processes within an area of work. Knowledge of standardized work routines and methods, general facts and information is necessary, usually acquired through training on the job. In Administration / Customer Services: Position operates with dedicated, limited range of user interfaces or functionalities in standardized software programs, strictly related to their specific processes. Customer Services functions gather and files information gained in routined customer contact calls. Higher level: Handling inbound calls, in basic 1st level support situations, while handling majority of request in the basis of given procedures. Lower level: Outbound calls, operating with given frame of structured information requested.In Production: Positions are expected to use specialized machines, tools and equipment for effective performance, which allows specific variances in operation mode.For Assembly work places: Work routines are repetitive by nature, but may take some seconds to some minutes each.Typical positions: Floor Assembly operator - Electric / Mechanic / Semi-products, Team Assistant 2 year vocational training + up to 1 year experience needed Basic knowledge and experience of principles, procedures, work routines and skills in the related field of work, gained through structured and focused two-year vocational training period.
