Leads the delivery of a complex project. Maintains a tactical focus. Sets clear objectives and defined deliverables. Develops cost benefit analyses for the project, communicates to an executive committee, creates and reports project status utilizing a dashboard, allocates resources, defines project governance policies and manages the financial concerns. Utilizes and effectively communicates technical components of an initiative to applicable parties. Ability to lead a cross-functional team while motivating team members to their highest potential. Requires excellent oral and written communication skills as well as business presentation skills. Excellent analytical skills. Interfaces effectively with all levels and across organizational lines, including the business units. Effectively utilizes external vendors and internal resources. Demonstrated success at building team relationships and partnerships across organizational lines. Experience Level: 2+ years of experience required. Education: BA/BS Degree or 4 years of additional experience required. Education: * Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Computer Science, MIS or related field and Minimum three (3) years project work experience, including Minimum three (3) years providing project or team leadership. Additional equivalent work experience may be substituted for the degree requirement. Preferred Qualifications: * Graduate degree in a business or information management discipline. * Minimum three (1) year experience working on project(s) involving the implementation of project life cycle methodologies (e.g., SDLC, PMI, organizational change). * Knowledge of systems development methodologies. * Knowledge of insurance plan marketing technologies and management systems. * Completes work assignments by applying up-to-date knowledge in subject area to meet deadlines; following procedures and policies, and applying data and resources to support projects or initiatives; collaborating with others, often cross-functionally, to solve business problems; supporting the completion of priorities, deadlines, and expectations; communicating progress and information; identifying and recommending ways to address improvement opportunities when possible; and escalating issues or risks as appropriate. * Manages simple to moderately complex individual projects * Responsible for the creation and maintenance of key project deliverables (RACI, RAID, Project Plans, Communication Plans, etc.) * Ensures the alignment, buy-in, and coordination of diverse project stakeholders by building rapport with internal customers, third party vendors, and senior management. * Facilitates note taking and action item tracking for moderately complex cross-functional meetings * Provides ongoing support to project personnel by regularly communicating with project team members to ensure schedule data and changes are accurately interpreted and accounted for. * Supports the development of solutions and may develop solutions * Typically works on assignments of moderate scope; sometimes works on assignments of diverse scope * Develops the project plan and identifies project metrics * Manages the tracking of interdependencies (start to finish relationships) within the project. * Manages project close-out activities and may conduct post-implementation reviews (e.g. Lessons Learned) * Requires moderate planning and scheduling of cross-functional meetings * Works under general supervision and occasionally works under limited direction. * Periodically develops and manages issue escalation and the resolution process. * Tracks and reports on project deliverable status and may manage variances * Periodically prepares content for presentations * Works with project team to review progress against team and project objectives * Allocates resources, establishes schedules, and makes task assignments * Demonstrates use of change management process -resources, schedule, scope for assigned project (size and complexity - see above) - renegotiates deadlines with sponsors * Tracks and reports on project and deliverable status and may manage variances * Executes the project plan * May develop and manage issue escalation and the resolution process. * Requires some judgment to develop alternatives. * Provides information to others to be used in the decision-making process. * May contribute content for presentations * Responsible for documenting and organizing project deliverables, scope and content, including all decisions. * Communicates project/task purpose and connects it to goals of group/unit of operation and member/customer needs. * Supports the management and proactive mitigation of project issues and risks by assisting in the analysis and resolution of trigger events.
