Provides technical and administrative support to project manager(s). Formats documentation, including creation of templates and shell files. Creations Adobe files and CDs as necessary. Uses variety of software tools sufficiently to support all aspects of the project. Responsible for final assembly and quality of printed materials. Assists with logistics for arranging off-site and department meetings. Assists in maintenance of libraries, databases and graphic management logs. Assists with development of general graphic designs to enhance technical documents. Expert knowledge of MS Word, Project, Excel, PowerPoint and Visio. Ability to resolve problems without delay and/or to seek managerial intervention and operate under stressful, time-sensitive deadlines. Experience Level: BA or BS preferred plus minimum 3+ years of direct relevant experience. Sr. Print Buyer: Candidate will represent Kaiser and its subsidiaries as the primary buyer of print and related materials/services: direct mail, sales collateral, large format graphics, open enrollment and delivery system materials. Buyer will select and supervise vendors to ensure a high standard of production quality, efficiency and economy while meeting timeline requirements. Ensure delivery of printed materials from vendors to designated destinations. Coordinate, plan, develop, schedule and estimate. Consult with internal staff as required: Art Directors, Designers, Writers, Digital Production and Clients. Counsels clients for understanding of costs and timing implications and industry best practices. PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Validates project scheduling to meet client needs. Provides cost and time estimates to clients and project managers, obtains all necessary approvals for project development and associated expenditures. Keeps all project management software up to date. Ensures high-quality, timely products. Committed to process improvements in all areas. Functions as the primary liaison for product and service issues to include: research, substitutions, pricing, sourcing and product quality. Drives cost savings and quality improvement projects. Ensures economical procurement of goods for KP considering the total cost including: process cost, freight & delivery, conditions, storage, maintenance, life cycle, and associated products costs when making decisions. Vendor management as needed for continuous high quality results that meet budgetary restrictions and on time delivery. Facilitates and leads meetings as needed to address issues, plan for production or check status of work. Tracks and estimates costs for projects and predicts yearly cost estimates for annual budgeting purposes. Keeps abreast of commodity (paper) increases, fluctuations and trends. Main contact with print vendors. Vendor management and reconciliation.
