RESPONSIBILITIES AND POSITION DESCRIPTION
The Siemens - Information Technologies Group is seeking an IT Intern/Co-Op for the Mobile Solutions department in Orlando Florida. This internship will focus on assisting the professional staff with a variety of support and project activities. These activities may include but are not limited to troubleshooting application issues, software development and research of mobile technologies. The position is designed for a highly organized self starter with strong communication, problem-solving and interpersonal skills.
This internship allows for the learning and development in the following areas:
- Exposure to the Siemens IT application support process
- Knowledge of quality assurance and testing techniques
- Application troubleshooting
- Input into tool evaluation and software architecture decisions
- Exposure to cloud computing and mobile application development
- Hands-on experience supporting mobile applications
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: (These are the minimum qualifications you need to be considered for the job.)
- Good written and verbal communication skills
- Exhibits strong problem solving skills
- Demonstrated ability to work independently as well as in a team environment with minimal supervision
- Understanding of programming methodologies and of the software development lifecycle
- Working knowledge with one of the following object oriented programming languages
Java, Objective-C, Swift or C#.NET
- Familiarity with web technologies such as HTML5, JavaScript, CSS, XML or other web programming languages
- Willingness or demonstrated ability to learn new technologies
- A minimum of 20 hours a week must be worked
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Experience in web development or creating database driven dynamic applications
- Experience with relational databases such as Microsoft SQL Server or Oracle
- Exposure to methodologies for user experience optimization or user interface design
- Experience developing web services
EDUCATION:
- High School graduate or GED
- Candidate must be currently pursuing bachelor degree in Computer Science or Information Technology from an accredited university
- Must have an overall cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher
- Must have authorization to work in the US permanently without sponsorship
