The Financial Analyst works closely with the Performance Controller and Commercial Project Managers to provide timely financial review to management and corporate headquarters. Management of project accounts, enabling effective cost control, and ensuring the provision of key management information to the project team. Performs accounting activities including account reconciliation and preparation of journal entries. Prepares and maintains ledger accounts and related activities for the production of financial statements and reports. Maintains and processes all accounts and entries in accordance with Siemens Financial Reporting Guidelines and any other applicable standards.
Monthly responsibilities may include: Posting business-specific journal entries; Compiling and analyzing project indicators; Preparing performance reporting for corporate; Additional other tasks as assigned.
Ad Hoc responsibilities may include: Balance sheet reconciliations; Historical and current data review, analysis, and corrections (as needed); Validation of business transactions (as needed); Research, analyze, and propose solutions for specific items.
Additional assignments may include: Forecasting and budgeting; Weekly reporting packets; Development of automated reporting; Process improvement and documentation.
Analysis - Prepare monthly, quarterly, annual as well as ad hoc analysis of the P&L, Balance Sheet and cash flow to support decision making in the business.
Reporting - Preparation of financial and other key business metrics at the highest quality in line with given timelines.
Forecast - Monthly, quarterly and annual forecasts are prepared capturing all future business developments.
Month-end process - a key player in the month-end process ensuring the month-end results are completed in a timely manner of the highest quality in line with accounting guidelines.
This is a deadline driven position, and a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail are required.
Qualifications, Experience & Technical Know-How:
- Intermediate to advanced Excel ability
- High level of attention to detail and accuracy and the ability to work independently
- Ability to read and understand a Balance Sheet and Income Statement
- Ability to post journal entries with accuracy
- Relevant experience in a project based industry
- Good working knowledge of SAP and Microsoft Office desirable
Experience and Education:
Typically these functions require relevant experience in auditing, accounting, or finance and a Bachelor's Degree in a related field. Some SAP experience is preferred is not essential. We are looking for someone who is fairly new in starting their career (6-8 years experience), has some analytical or AP experience. Some SAP experience is preferred but definitely not essential.
Intermediate/advanced Excel skills are extremely important, since all of our reporting is done in Excel
