Education Requirements: minimum high school diploma or GED Years of experience desired: 5-8 years direct experience, minimum Required skills and experiences: Licensed Customs Broker preferred Direct experience in import and export activity, such as determining correct values to complete a customs entry, filing customs entries or EEI Excellent knowledge of US Customs regulations, US Tariff database, General Rules of Interpretation and customs brokerage
This role requires strong personal attributes including: high ethical standards, strong organizational and communication skills, high attention to detail, self-motivated and a team player.
Must possess strong skills with Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook.
Seeking an individual to ensure compliance for import and export transactions including review of purchase order data, confirmation of value, country of origin determination, issuance of clearing instructions to the customs broker and filing EEIs. Experience with assists, additions to value and reconciliation a plus. Review of import and export procedures to ensure compliance in accordance with legal regulations and internal corporate guidelines. Experience determining USHTS (US Harmonized Tariff Schedule) classifications and filing customs import entries. Must be able to work independently and as a team member. Strong computer skills with the ability to quickly learn new systems are a must. This position also * Develops, implements and enforces guidelines, solutions and plans in order to optimize processes in his/her area of responsibility. *Contributes to the implementation of Customs regulations and ensures accurate and consistent distribution of relevant information throughout the internal organization. * 5-8 years professional experience. Licensed customs broker preferred.
