Position Overview

Responsible for contributing to strategy for global/regional categories

Responsibilities:

The PCM is regionally responsible for procurement strategies and implementation for Cranes and Installation services, and site infrastructure purchases for the Siemens Gamesa Renewable Energy business. Strategies are elaborated within global commodity team and are applied in international markets.

The PCM leads a cross-functional team with Engineering, Supplier Quality, Project Management and external resources in order to achieve operational readiness and total-cost approach savings to the business through collaborative, target oriented activities.

Duties include aligning and elaborating strategies with other SGREregional entities, leading the tender and awarding process for project specific demands in close collaboration with the project team and engineering, and leveraging purchasing principles and advanced negotiation concepts to award business to capable and qualified subcontractors at the most competitive total cost. Customer requirements must be understood and integrated back-to-back in supplier offers and contracts respectively. The PCM will also represent the organization in related Siemens cross-sector purchasing circles.

Regional and cross-BU responsibility for total purchasing Volume (PVO) of Commodity based on defined goods/services scope in the respective region Contribute to global commodity strategy, transparency, capacity creation, make & buy decisions, built strategy, execution at best cost, continuous improvement plan and communicate it in the region to ensure long term and cost efficient supply Central selection and negotiation with global suppliers (incl. documentation, communication, strategic evaluations, qualifications and development Negotiate regional frame contracts, targets, budget, forecasts and negotiation concepts with regions Identify particular procurement risks, opportunities and market forces to avoid potential damage/ exploit potential opportunities through tailored risk management and change management Generate, document and implement savings (DI 1-3), e.g. CNI; plan, monitor and report on relevant KPI (e.g. CNI, eAuctions, Supply Base Optimization, FPL, GVS share) and ensure the target achievement within the respective Commodity in the region to contribute to the success of the business Forward systematically all relevant Procurement related project information (e.g. updated contractual conditions, Supplier Management data) to keep all project participants up to date Maintain regular contact with relevant interfaces to gather information, fully inform network partners and ensure information exchange with relevant interfaces

Required Knowledge/Skills, Education, and Experience

Candidate will demonstrate a high level of critical thinking, team competence with own group, as well as internationally matrixed organization.

Candidate should have knowledge of Siemens Gamesa Procurement landscape and tools (i.e. Modaly, SAP, international team set-up etc.). Candidate will have proven track record of successful supplier negotiations regarding pricing, quality, technology and timing Must possess excellent communication skills - written, oral, and presentation

Must possess business management and entrepreneurial skills.

Must be able to read and understand engineering drawings and specifications, and possess a strong mechanical aptitude.

Must be diplomatic and able to establish and maintain effective relationships with suppliers, project management, manufacturing, engineering and other departments, and factory personnel.

Preferred Knowledge/Skills, Education, and Experience

BS/BA in related discipline, or advanced degree, where required, or equivalent combination of education and experience. Certification may be required in some areas.

Demonstrates extensive knowledge in field of specialization or multiple disciplines to the successful completion of complex assignments. Successfully serves as point of authority and/or source of technical/scientific knowledge for area of expertise. Demonstrates comprehensive knowledge of organization's business practices and issues faced and contributes to problem resolution of those issues. Typically 5+ years of successful experience in related field and successful demonstration of Key Responsibilities and Knowledge as presented above. Advanced degree MAY be substituted for experience, where applicable.
